LinkBay: Smart Link Management
Your Data, Your Control
Introduction
JST Core ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how LinkBay (the "App") handles your data. LinkBay is designed with a privacy-first approach — your content stays on your device and in your personal iCloud account.
By using LinkBay, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our policies, please do not download or use this App.
How Your Data Is Stored
iCloud Private Database
All your content in LinkBay — including saved links, categories, tags, and notes — is stored in your personal iCloud private database provided by Apple. This means:
- Your data belongs to you: It is stored under your Apple ID and only you can access it.
- No developer access: We have no ability to view, read, or retrieve your saved content.
- Apple's security: Your data is protected by Apple's iCloud security infrastructure, including encryption in transit and at rest.
- Sync across devices: If you use the same Apple ID on multiple devices, your data syncs automatically through iCloud.
On-Device Storage
LinkBay also stores data locally on your device for offline access and performance. This local data remains on your device and is not transmitted to us.
What We Do Not Collect
LinkBay does not collect, store, or transmit any of the following to our servers:
- Your saved links, bookmarks, or URLs
- Your categories, tags, or notes
- Your Apple ID or iCloud account information
- Personal information such as your name, email, or location
- Browsing history or usage patterns
We do not operate servers that store your personal data. Your content never leaves Apple's ecosystem.
Third-Party Services
Apple iCloud
LinkBay uses Apple's CloudKit framework to store your data in your personal iCloud private database. Apple's handling of your iCloud data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
App Store
LinkBay is distributed through the Apple App Store. Apple may collect information related to your App Store activity in accordance with their privacy policy. We may receive aggregated, anonymized analytics from Apple (such as download counts) that cannot identify individual users.
Data Security
Your data is protected through multiple layers of security:
- iCloud Encryption: Apple encrypts your iCloud data both in transit and at rest.
- Apple ID Authentication: Only your authenticated Apple ID can access your private database.
- On-Device Protection: Local data is protected by your device's built-in security features, including passcode and biometric authentication.
Since we do not have access to your data, there is no risk of a data breach from our side. Your data security depends on your Apple ID and device security.
Your Rights
Because your data is stored in your own iCloud private database, you have full control over it at all times:
- Access: All your data is accessible directly within the App.
- Modification: You can edit or update your links, categories, tags, and notes at any time.
- Deletion: You can delete any or all of your data within the App. Deleting the App or signing out of iCloud will remove your local data.
- Portability: Your data is stored in your iCloud account and remains under your control.
No request to us is needed to exercise these rights — you can manage everything directly.
Children's Privacy
LinkBay does not collect personal information from any user, including children. Since all data is stored locally and in the user's personal iCloud account, no personal information is transmitted to us.
Parents and guardians can manage their child's iCloud usage and device access through Apple's Family Sharing and Screen Time features.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will:
- Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
- Post the updated Privacy Policy on this page
Your continued use of LinkBay after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
